Welcome to Canyonfolk House Concerts, we are your hosts Bill and Shirlee. Come on in and help yourself to a bowl of what is simmering on the stove and then come on in to the living room and let's listen to a concert.

We opened our doors in 2003 with our first show and have since hosted many wonderful touring singer/songwriters. We invite you to come to our home and listen to some of the finest local and national touring singer songwriters you can see in an intimate enviorment.
We are located in Harbison Canyon just 30 minutes from San Diego off the Interstate 8 in a beautiful canyon. We open our doors to people who love music and want to experience the music in it's purist form. All are touring and acomplished national touring artist's and have cd's available for sale.
What is a House Concert? Just what it sounds like. We book a performer, set up chairs, sound and lights and enjoy a pot luck dinner before the show. It's an intimate, smoke-free evening of music. All money collected through the suggested donation at the door goes to the performer(s).

Podunk Nowhere is a bootstrap duo strumming to the tune of alt-country/americana, resonating hints of musical influences such as Ryan Adams, Uncle Tupelo and Lucinda Williams. One guitar and two voices meld together a sound subtle and striking - poetically charged and emotionally driven.
Two time San Diego Music Award Nominees for Best Americana album, these married songsters have been performing in San Diego and beyond since their fateful meeting eight years ago on the Streets of Ocean Beach.
They often exchange lively and entertaining "married life" banter back and forth on stage, welcoming the audience into their living room world. Though their sets are composed primarily of originally composed music, they have been known to play songs by the likes of Gillian Welch, John Prine, and even Radiohead from time to time. |
